Megan O’Hargan, Eva Harris, and Abby Winter listen as they are taught about how an ambulance functions.

Recently, on April 30, eighth grade students took a trip over to the Pensacola Bay Center to learn about career paths and their future choices. This Career Expo contained all kinds of different fields so everybody could learn about a job or career they found interesting. When asked about the expo, Elaina Durko responded saying, “The expo was actually pretty fun, getting to go around with your friends and learn about different fields of work and colleges was very informational.”

This trip started off as students from various schools walked around and visited all kinds of booths, all containing information about subjects such as career paths, colleges, good decisions in high school life, and many, many more. As students walked around learning, they could participate in different activities that showed them necessary actions that would be needed later in life depending on your job such as properly folding towels, writing secret codes, performing chest compressions for CPR, and many more.

When asked if she would recommend this expo, Trinity Devanney responded saying, “I would recommend this expo because it was a lot of fun, and it exposed you a little to what being an adult is actually like. It’s also a great learning experience and you might find something interesting to you that you didn’t think you would.”
