Every year Mrs. Graham (GBMS Media Specialist) and her fabulous team of volunteers host the annual book fair. This year’s fair was from August 23 through September 7, 2018. The book fair always allows students to find new books and expand their reading horizons. It also brings new books into the library. The book fair is always a fun filled experience–there were laughs and happy faces as usual. Mrs. Graham loves hosting the book fair because “I can share my love of reading with everyone.”

The book fair has a variety of different books and activities. Some books range from graphic novels to silly kid books. It provides books for all tastes. The book fair not only has just books, they have a variety of different things such as posters, pencils, and many more little trinkets such as face masks, colorful pencils, and goofy pencil toppings. Every year the book fair has a theme, and  this year’s theme was an Enchanted Forest, with decorations and little masks that kids could put on.

Maya Leshnov loves the book fair because “she loves to read,” and she has her own library at her house. Two of the many genres Maya likes are action and horror. I bet many more could agree with Maya that the book fair is a great time. One of the staff members at the book fair said that some of the bestselling books were Ghost, a SSYRA book, Restart a SSYRA book, and Grenade non SSYRA book. Mrs.

Graham also said they made about $ 8,200 and they are going to use that money to buy more books with scholastic bucks. Mrs. Graham said, “This was the best book fair yet.”
