Positively Perfect!

Thirty-one GBMS students achieved Perfect Scores on Florida State Assessments (FSA tests) in at least one of the following areas: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Civics, and Algebra. Principal Michael Brandon congratulated current 7th and 8th graders on August 31 and awarded them their certificates.

Current 9th graders who earned perfect scores: Chandler Massey, Lauren Toms, Haley Cartee, Amber Collins, Hannah O’Grady, Paul Palewicz, Paige Smith, Sarah Marks, and Lillian Van Sleen.

Congratulations to all these amazing Dolphins!

Six current GBMS 6th graders earned perfect scores on the 5th grade FSA.  Michael Fink, Declan Suttman, and Evan White achieved perfect scores on the 5th Grade Math test.  Emma Fulford, Madeline Riehl, and Gwendolyn Saxon achieved perfect scores on the 5th Grade Science test.

DINO CHAMPS! The top six Dino Dash racers were Maddie Riehl, Christopher Viglione, Evan Austin, Madelyn Sonnenberg, Aiden Roberts, and Jonathan Gully.

Dino Dash makes a splash!

Mrs. Smithey’s band students had big inspiration to get started on their fundraiser. Every student who had sold 15 items by last Wednesday (September 12) was able to compete in the Dino Dash, a race of electronic dinosaurs. Each racer could keep their dino after the race, but the big winner got a $50 gift card. Second place won $20, and third through sixth place got $10. They also received candy for their top performances.

WINNER WINNER! Jonathan Gully won the $50 gift card.

Super Smithey

Congratulations to band teacher Ms. Susie Smithey, who recently became a member of Phi Beta Mu, an international society that is made up of outstanding bandmasters. It is very hard to get into this association and many applications are declined. Mrs. Smithey was one of this year’s Florida nominees. She plans to stay with the fellowship of band members and keep on being an excellent bandmaster!
