Brawlhalla is an action-packed FFA (free-for-all) game that came out in 2015. It is available on pc, mac, Xbox, and soon to be on ps4.

There are over 20 legends (fighters)  to choose from, each with their own weapons, abilities, stats, and playstyles. The player starts with seven basic legends and I recommend using Orion. Due to his easy-to-learn playstyle, he caters to new players. However,  certain legends will have to be unlocked with gold, an in-game currency earned by playing matches, leveling up, and completing challenges. The matchmaking is quick and puts the player into games with people of the same skill level, so a pro won’t be able to destroy an entire lobby of new players. As a legend levels up, they will gain stances for their stats. These stances increase either speed (how fast the legend moves), strength (how much damage the legend does), dexterity (side swipe damage), or defense (how many hits the legend can take before flying off the map). the player can only equip one stance at a time, so use it wisely! There are new features and legends being added to the game all the time, so the game is never boring.

Personally, I think this game is great! There is a legend for everyone and it’s easy to pick up and play. Not to mention, Brawlhalla is completely free! The only thing holding it back from a perfect score is the slight clunkiness in the dexterity attacks.  All and all, I rate Brawlhalla a 9.5 out of 10.
