The Quentin Cooper run is a local run supporting a good cause. It is a 5k that benefits people in need in this community.

The Quentin Cooper Liver Life 5k is an annual run in Gulf Breeze. The run started in 2013, when several GBHS students decided to create a 5k to benefit then 17-year-old classmate Quentin Cooper, diagnosed with liver cancer. Cooper passed away in 2013, although his memory still lives on. This will be the 7th annual Quentin Cooper 5k.

Every year, a Santa Rosa County student is chosen to be given the funds raised. This year’s recipient is six-year-old Holin. According to @liverlife5k on FacebookHolin “Was born with several congenital heart defects and is considered to have “half a heart.”’ The page explains that she has had one throat surgery, four open-heart surgeries, two stomach surgeries, and three heart catheters. The race will go towards medical bills and will help her family with finances.

This year the race falls on Saturday, April 20. The race starts at 8:00 AM CDT, at the GBHS stadium. Registration is at 7:00 AM before the race, or you can pre-register for $20. The link to register will be down below.

It is important to support local causes in one’s community, and this run is no exception.
